Magnets in the sump should cover it. I guess an inline screen filter wouldn't hurt though.

:And I also think a belt driven system makes sense. I do not really like the idea of two independent electric pumps running. Seems:
:a) inefficient
:b) somewhat taxing of the alternator
:c) like it would require a bunch of heavy gauge wire running all over the place

Not to mention it's probably more reliable. I'll have to go dig through my Circletrack magazines for ideas.
